About Us
Dare was established in 2009 by Sean Dare following a 12 year career as a Furniture Designer.
In that time he created designs for high end retailers and manufacturers including Herman Miller, Ercol,
The Conran Shop, Heals, Liberty and Harrods.
Dare is a family run company with a core focus on designing and producing exceptional furniture manufactured to the highest standards in our dedicated workshops across the UK and Europe.
Our size and accommodating attitude allow us flexibility in terms of creating furniture solutions (often bespoke), satisfying budgets, delivering and installing (where required) in line with the project requirements.
We specialise in creating high quality products with a residential aesthetic, built to meet contract specifications.
Our focus covers three core areas of production; solid timber, upholstery & metalwork.
In 2024, Dare launched Dare Contract, a specific arm of the company focussing purely on products for the hard and fast paced high traffic environments. The Dare Contract banner has also allowed a design shift to a more hospitality focussed range of products.
As a side to our core manufacturing, we operate an independent bespoke workshop in Sussex where we can produce exclusive pieces manufactured to our meticulous standards, such as interior joinery, reception desks, banquette seating, boardroom tables & canteen tables. We can accommodate pieces designed by Architects and Interior designers and can work from existing technical drawings or work with you to develop your concept into a finished product.
Based in a former Victorian coach works on the West Sussex coast, we supply a network of leading retailers, dealers, architects and interior designers around the world.
