Founded in 2009 by Sean Dare, Dare is a design-led, family-run furniture studio with a focus on

creating beautifully crafted, enduring pieces.

 

With a background designing for global names like Herman Miller, Liberty, Ercol, and The Conran Shop,

Sean established Dare to bring a more personal, thoughtful approach to contemporary furniture design.

Our agile team enables us to offer flexible, client-focused solutions — whether that’s custom sizing, bespoke finishes,

or full-service design, development and installation, tailored to individual projects.

Every piece is made to the highest standards in our workshops across the UK and Europe,

allowing us to control quality and detail at every stage.

We design with longevity in mind—both in aesthetics and construction.

Our furniture sits comfortably in residential interiors but is engineered to meet the demands of commercial environments.

In 2024, we launched Dare Contract—a dedicated division serving high-traffic hospitality spaces.

This expansion allows us to bring our design ethos to larger-scale projects while

maintaining the craftsmanship we're known for.

Aside from our core production, we operate a bespoke joinery workshop in Sussex, producing one-off pieces such as reception desks, banquette seating, and boardroom tables.

​

We collaborate closely with architects and designers to translate ideas into finished pieces.

​

Based in a converted Victorian coachworks on the West Sussex coast, Dare partners with leading design studios, retailers, and consultancies across the UK and internationally.
